Developing a health literacy community

GV CERV has been contracted with the Institute for Healthcare Advancement to design and further develop a prototype website that connects the health literacy (HL) community with the best evidence-based resources in the HL field. The content and value of this site depends on health literacy professionals worldwide to foster a community-based resource and network that serves both health literacy professionals and organizations.

An extensive use of a large database of health literacy resources is the center stage of this online tool. The site will consist of several main categories such as “Becoming a Health Literacy Professional“, “Evaluating your Health Literacy Work“, “Tools for Effective Communication“, and “Becoming a Health Literate Organization“.
